Beyond tree cover: mapping the world’s forest types deepmind.google

Google DeepMind, Google Research, the World Resources Institute and IIASA released ForTy 2020, a global map classifying land at 10-meter resolution into six forest and land-use types, from primary forests to plantations and tree crops. They also shared an early annual series for 2017–2025 showing forest changes, including what replaced natural forests.
