SGE SMR UK and Origin Nuclear plan to establish a UK-based company to license, prepare and operate a proposed fleet of 14 GE Vernova Hitachi BWRX-300 reactors across three sites. Origin, owned by Ontario Power Generation, will bring operating experience from the first BWRX-300 under construction in Canada; SGE says the 4.2 GW UK programme could begin commercial operation in 2034.
