Austrian start-up Emerald Horizon plans to launch battery storage deliveries in 2026 and molten-salt thermal storage in 2028, while developing an accelerator-driven thorium generator it says could produce 10 MW of electricity per module. The generator remains at an early development stage, with a prototype targeted for 2029 and a demonstration plant for 2031; its safety, economics and regulatory pathway have not yet been demonstrated or settled.
