Kwi Being Developed As New KDE Terminal Emulator With 3x To 35x Performance phoronix.com

KDE developer Eike Hein is developing Kwi, an experimental terminal emulator built on Ghostty’s libghostty-vt and KDE Frameworks, with OpenGL or Vulkan GPU acceleration. Hein says it is 3 to 35 times faster than Konsole in some benchmarks, but Kwi has no 0.1.0 release yet and is not proposed as a replacement.
