Terence Tao, Daniel Carter and Kevin O’Bryant have uploaded a preprint refining upper bounds on the size of Sidon sets, whose pairwise sums are distinct. Their method uses optimized cutoff functions and randomized choices to improve the bound; a slightly sharper numerical constant has since been found by a different method.
