Transport & Environment (T&E) predicts sales in Europe of battery-electric cars priced at €25,000 or less will be seven times higher in 2026 than in 2024, as more affordable models reach the market. T&E reports 1.64 million battery EVs were sold in the first eight months of 2026, up 45% from the same period in 2025; nearly 40 new models launched in the first half, with about 60 expected by year-end.
