Fraunhofer IEG and the Post-Mining Research Center at Georg Agricola University of Applied Sciences have signed an agreement to research mine-water geothermal energy in Germany. They aim to develop practical guidelines, standards and training, while assessing technical, ecological, legal and economic issues around using flooded mines for heating or cooling.
